Lift Flashcards

1
Q

What is lift?

A

Phenomenon generated by an aerofoil due to pressure differences above and below the aerofoil.
The aerofoil is cambered on top and flat below, causing a difference in speed and thus a pressure differential

Q

What is the co-efficient of lift?

A

Lifting ability of a particular wing, it depends on shape and angle of attack

Q

What happens with the centre of pressure with movement of AoA?

A

It moves, the greater the AoA, the closer the centre of pressure is to the leading edge
