It means an individual or household isn’t able to obtain healthy, nutritious food, or can’t access the food they would like to eat.

-Poor diet
-Diet related diseases such as heart disease, obesity and cancer
-Inadequate levels of many vitamins and minerals
-Rise in malnutrition

-Compare food prices on the internet
-Buy foods from low-cost supermarkets
-Plan meals before going shopping
What are 3 ways to save money during cooking?
-Plan meals so that leftovers from one can be used for another
-Use cheaper cuts of meat
-Use quick methods of cooking eg microwave to reduce the amount of energy used.
What are the forbidden/common foods eaten in Christianity?
There aren’t any forbidden foods, however there is a tradition that fish is eaten on a Friday than meat.

Foods must be kosher, kosher rules include:
-Meat and poultry have been slaughtered in a special way
-Pork and shellfish are forbidden
-Meat and dairy products must not be prepared or eaten together.
What are the forbidden/common foods eaten in Islam?
Food must be halal, which means the animal have been slaughtered in an Islamic way.
Muslims are not permitted to eat pork, pork products, lard or gelatine.
They also can’t consume any alcohol.
What is fair trade?
It changed the way trade works through better prices, decent working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and workers in developing and lower economically developed countries (LEDC).
