Define: heredity
Transmission of characteristics from biological parents to their offspring via genes at the time of conception
Define: environment
All experiences, objects and events which we are exposed to throughout our lifetime
Provide examples of heredity (nature) factors
Physical development: blood type, brain chemistry, eye/hair colour, body shape, susceptibility to physical illnesses/disorders
Psychological development: intelligence of personality, onset of psychological illnesses/disorders eg. Schizophrenia
Provide examples of environmental (nurture) factors
Siblings, how you were raised, friendship groups, education, religion
