LOM was produced by Kudos films which is apart of the large conglomerate Endermol Shine Group (ESG)
The BBC has a remit they have to conform to - How did LOM conform to the remit?
In the remit it says that shows have to represent regional areas and LOM was set in Manchester giving us an insight into what Manchester is like

9pm post watershed due to the racism, homophobia and politically incorrect discriminatory language

The two shows are Eastenders and Outtake tv and they did this because both shows were popular and racked in audiences and they hoped these audiences would stay and carrying on watch LOM

Because these audiences will here the songs from the 70s and feel nostalgic etc

Why would the BBC logo appearing on all marketing bring in audiences?
Because the logo is almost like a stamp of quality and would also bring in pre sold fans of BBC dramas

Why did some people complain to OFFCOM about LOM?
Because the show reflects 70s cultural contexts issue such as Racism, homophobia, sexism etc where all shown through out the show reflecting social realism
The marketing focused on crime drama and the 70s, why?
To appeal to those older fans
They focused the main marketing around one specific actor - Who was it and why?
John Simm as he was recongisable to fans and had pre sold fans from shows like Doctor Who
