What class of drug is lidocaine?
Class 1b anti arrhythmic
What is the dosage for lidocaine?
1.0-1.5 mg per kg
What is the route of administration for lidocaine?
IV, subcutaneous, topical, oral
What are the indications for lidocaine?
Vfib, pulsed stable vtach (give 1/2 dose for this; .5-.75 mg per kg)
What are the contraindications for lidocaine?
Hypersensitivity to local anesthetics of the amide type
What are the side effects of lidocaine?
Seizure activity w/ too much, tinnitus, twitching
What class of drug is amiodarone?
Anti-dysrhythmic
What is the dosage for amiodarone?
Cardiac arrest is 300 mg initially, followed by 150 mg for a max of 450 mg
What is the route of administration for amiodarone?
IV
What are the indications for amiodarone?
Stable vtach (150 mg over 10 min), vfib
What are the contraindications for amiodarone?
Asthma, liver disease, thyroid disorder, hypo or hypertension, vision problems, electrolyte imbalance, pacemaker or defibrillator implanted
What are the side effects of amiodarone?
Seeing halos around lights, loss of coordination, tremors, numbness or tingling
