What class of drug is adenosine?
Anti-dysrhythmic, works on AV junction of the heart. Restarts the heart
What is the dosage for adenosine?
6 mg rapid IV push, push another 6 mg if needed for a total of 12 mg
What is the route of administration for adenosine?
Rapid IV bolus only
What are the indications for adenosine?
SVT, wolff-parkinson-white syndrome, wide complex tachycardia
What are the contraindications for adenosine?
Allergic, 2nd or 3rd degree heart block with no pacemaker, sinus node disease and no pacemaker, breathing problems like asthma
What are the side effects of adenosine?
Dizziness, flushing, headache, lightheadedness, stomach pain
What class of drug is nitro?
Vasodilator
What is the dosage for nitro?
.4 mg tablet or .4 mg spray given a maximum of 3x
What is the route of administration for nitro?
Sublingually
What are the indications for nitro?
Angina caused by coronary artery disease, acute anginal attacks, CHF
What are the contraindications for nitro?
Medications that lower BP, erectial dysfunction medications, too low BP
What are the side effects of nitro?
Headaches, flushing of the head and neck, dizziness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, fainting, blurred vision
