What are the movements associated with each lever class
Class 1:
Movement of the neck/head (flexion/extension)
Elbow extension
Class 2:
Plantar Flexion at the ankle
Class 3:
every other movement
What is the effect of the effort arm being longer than the load arm
Mechanical advantage
What is the effect of the effort arm being shorter than the load arm
Mechanical disadvantage
What are the effects of mechanical advantage
Carry heavy loads with little effort
Can generate larger forces
Lower range of movement
What are the effects of mechanical disadvantage
Faster movements
Wider range of movements
Need more effort to move larger loads
What does effort arm and load arm mean
The distance of the effort and load from the fulcrum
