- Strong
- Increasing the length of lever arm increases the mechanical advantage

- Fast movement
- Large range of motion
- Increasing lever arm decreases mechanical advantage
Disadvantages of first and second class levers
- slow
- limited flexibility
Disadvantages of third class levers
The force applied must exceed the load
