Levels of organisation Flashcards
What is a gene
A short section of DNA used to code for protein. It is found on the chromosome
What are chromosomes
how many pairs are there in the human body
Tightly coiled DNA which encodes all information to make a human. It is used to produce proteins. There are 46 (23 pairs) in humans
what is a plant

A collection of different tissues that carry out a function
What is a tissue
A collection of similar cells grouped together that carry out a function like muscles
What is a cell
The smallest unit of life
What is an organelle
The structures inside of a cell
