What did you advise the client on cost impacts during design development of stage 2?

Answer 1

I produced a change tracker presentation which effectively reconciled the updated design against the previous design.

I advised on the key design changes including:

Reduced storey heights 
Facades becoming more solid
Materiality changed (eg London stock brick in lieu of red brick)
Increased set backs 
Lattice brick replaced with solid

And indicated this brought down the average facade rates by circa £50/m2

How did you report the changes in the progression of stage 2 to your client?

I had a tracker document which showed where the design was changing and the potential cost impact of the changes

I arranged meetings every 2 weeks to discuss that changes with the client.

Agreed changes were funded by the design contingency
