Propaganda that is media/information given to you that makes you form a faulty opinion about something.
What does propaganda do?
It manipulates you.
What is propaganda’s goal?
To get you to0 thinking’s or act in a way that might not benefit you.
You know something is propaganda when…
it doesn’t add support or any details to back up what i’s stating.
Techniques of Propaganda
Appeal To Association- glittering generalities and testimonial. Glittering generalities puts a unworthy and short praise on something to make it seem valuable. Testimonial associates products with a well liked person/place/or thing.
Techniques of Propaganda
Appeals To Identity- Plain Folks, Transfer, And Bandwagon
Plain folks will trick people into think that the speaker is a regular common person.
Transfer will make you think that you are apart of something special or cool.
Bandwagon is an invitation to be apart of a group.
Misleading Information
Misleading Information- Card-stacking and name calling
Card-stacking is leaving out information.
Name-calling is putting down and making negative associations about something with no detail or examples to support.
How do you identify card stacking?
It can be hard to do because you don’t know what info they are not including, but you try to find info that is not there.
How do you look for glittering generalities?
You look for heaping praise without details or examples.
