what is stress?
A
protects body from internal/external threats, can be + - or neutral, subjective to the individual, and may be physical emotional or psychological.

acute stress
A
short term and immediate, stimulates sns, prepares body for action, epinephrine and norepinephrine are release, hr and bp are increased

chronic stress
A
on going stress, decreased blood flow, releases aldosterone and cortisol, increase bp, decrease metabolism, immune system and insulin (high blood sugar)
