Nwit vs swa
Nwit means night but is changed to swa in two circumstances
- When modified like when you say bon swa instead of bon nwit
- When specifying night as a specific time not a general idea Ex: last night: Yè swa or tomorrow night: Demen swa
Mwa
month
How to indicate past tense
In Creole, verbs DO NOT change to indicate tense changes. Instead a tense marker is added before the verb and the verb stays the same.
Ex: He eats is Li manje BUT he ate is li te manje
I dance with her is Mwen danse avè’l, BUT I danced with her is Mwen te danse avè’l
