Lesson 6 - Proverbs Flashcards

1
Q

Explain one of Cara’s proverbs using an example that Cara did not use in class.

A

Be Genre Sensitivity. “Don’t read Proverbs like Paul.”

    • Narrative is descriptive. Paul is prescriptive.
    • When you read about slavery in the OT or rape of Tamar, it doesn’t mean the Bible is prescribing that behavior, but rather is describing the events that actually happened.
