A collective or multipurpose term that is used to identify a particular entity.
GROUP
Individuals classified together because they share a certain characteristics.
SOCIAL CATEGORY
The collection of people who share some characteristics, interact with one another, and have some feeling of unity.
SOCIAL GROUP
What are the commonalities do people have with one another in terms of traits?
SHARED IDENTITY
They always make to a point of getting together which is so often in the form of events.
REGULAR INTERACTION
They established hierarchy by the form of structuring roles and statuses to coordinate their activities.
SOCIAL STRUCTURE
It is described as something “small”, warm association based on ongoing, personal, intimate relationships
PRIMARY GROUP
It happens when people consider the difference in culture and race as significant thus, sometimes result to feeling hostile or threatened by another group.
IN AND OUT GROUP
A social group to which a person psychologically identifies as being a member or associate oneself with.
IN GROUP
Any group that you don’t belong to or brought by feeling of opposition or in competition with.
OUT GROUP
Are groups to which individuals compare themselves regularly, upon which it is used as a standard for evaluating oneself and behavior.
REFERENCE GROUP
The word itself connotes “ACTION-GUIDING” or “PRESCRIPTIVE”, it is a group to set and enforce standards of behavior and belief.
NORMATIVE
Each group provides standards by which one could measure oneself by performing a feature-by-feature comparison.
COMPARATIVE
A group of interdependent actors and relationships between them which vary widely in their nature and operation, depending on the actors & context.
