Lesson 5 - Reinforcement (Again!) + Schedules of Reinforcement Flashcards
what are preference assessments for?
to find the kids motivation
what are the 3 ways to identify potential reinforcers?
ask, observe, assess
what is a single-stimulus preference assessment?
recording duration for each stimulus
- done informally/in the moment
what is a paired-stimulus/force choice?
select around 4-6 items, select 2 @ a time + child selects out of those 2
- continue for all toys and record
what is a MSWO?
multiple stimulus without replacement
- looking for ranking order of favorite
What is a MSW?
multiple stimulus with replacement
- once you have enough of one favorite thing then you move on
-most time-consuming
what is continuous reinforcement?
reinforcing every correct response
what is intermittent reinforcement?
sometimes reinforcing a response/bx
difference between ratio and interval schedules?
ratio gives reinforcer based on children’s behavior and interval gives reinforcer based on behavior AND time
what are token economies?
a system where we reinforce responses with tokens that can be exchanged for primary reinforcers/preferred items
what is the “back-up” reinforcer in token economies?
what the child “cash in” to get
