Lesson 5 + 6 Flashcards
When a One Sample t-test
When we want to test a hypothesis that includes only one variable and that variable is quantifiable
Categorical Variable
Use of frequencies, percentages and measures of central location to describe data
e.g. mean, mode, median
Quantifiable data
More precise
e.g. variance, standard deviation
One-tailed test
The area of a normal distribution curve shows the region of rejection for the null hypothesis where the direction predicted by the hypothesis is known
Two-tailed test
The two areas of a normal distribution curve showing the regions of rejection for the null hypothesis where the direction predicted by the hypothesis is not known.
When Chi-square test
When we want to test a hypothesis that includes two nominal variables
