Bandwagon appeal
Many people are doing something so it must be the correct thing to do.
The 5 steps to problem solving
Identify the problem
create inferences
collect information
prioritize
develop solutions
Bloom’s taxonomy
Classification system to look at different levels of learning
Low Order Thinking skills
apply, understand, remember
High Order Thinking Skills
create, evaluate, and analyze
during the problem solving process…
always question yourself
Identify the problem
Clearly state what the problem is before you can solve it. If you cant figure out what the problem is, gather more info
Create inferences
Create inferences about why this problem exists and how to solve it. Brainstorm.
Collect information
gather information on the topic
prioritize
once you have all the information organize it. Prioritize what is useful and what isnt. Create diagrams to help. Be creative.
Develop Solutions
Develop a solution based on the information and set up a plan to implement the solution.
Blooms taxonomy: Create
produce original work
Evaluate
Justify a stance
Analyze
Create connections between ideas
Apply
use the information you gathered into new situations
Understand
Explain ideas and concepts
Remember
recall facts and concepts
