Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS)
It is referred to at times as the movement foundation (Gabbard, 2012) because of their importance in the subsequent development of more complex skill combinations
Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS)
These movements serve as the foundation or building blocks to the more specialized, complex skills used in play, games, sports, dance, gymnastics, outdoor education and physical recreation activities.

LOCOMOTOR
Involves the transfer of weight from one foot to the other while moving.
Walking
a series of small leaps where there is a momentary period where the body is not supported at all
Running
is a lift into the air by means of force made by the feet or hands against a surface landing evenly on two feet.
Jump
Involves jumping from one foot to the same foot after a brief suspension in the air.
Hopping
is a combination of a step and a hop sequence with alternating feet after each hop.
Skip
Sideways movement in which the weight of the body is shifted in the direction of the slide.
Sliding
Is a jump from one-foot while moving the body forward. The toes of the take-off foot leave the floor last and the landing is on the ball of the opposite foot.
Leaping
Is a step together of the legs going in the forward direction.
Gallop
is a rotation of the body on the floor.
Roll
Is a step together of the legs going in the forward direction
Crawl
