It includes strategies such as – word history,
personal experience, examples
Extended definition
Meanings given to words which are
newly-coined as already being used in the
society.
Invented Definition
Define an unfamiliar term by using a
technical term which is more familiar with
readers.
Use Comparison
This is applied by using words having
similar meanings with the word being
defined.
Use Synonyms
Describe the term being defined by providing
details about the subject.
Use Description
is one of the strategies in writing
which involves combining objects or items into
categories based on distinct characteristics.
Classification
It includes widely-known and accepted
categories used by the government, a business,
or an organization.
