The Future with "ir a" (going to)
Now let’s take a look at how we can talk about things we are planning on doing tomorrow or in the near future. In spanish, there is a very simple formula:
Ir (to go) + a (to) + verb in the infinitive
This is the equivalent of “going to” in english.
I am going to buy a suit.
Yo voy a comprar un traje.
You are going to go shopping in the afternoon.
Tú vas a ir de compras por la tarde.
She is going to wear her jacket for the first time on Tuesday.
Ella va a estrenar su chaqueta el martes.
You are going to travel to spain.
Usted va a viajar a España.
We are going to go window shopping.
Nosotros vamos a mirar escaparates.
You are going to look for shoes.
Vosotros vais a buscar zapatos.
You are going to rest.
Ustedes van a descansar.
