a ball rubbing on the floor or brakes pressing on a tire to stop a car

when a force changes the motion of an object
What is an example of work?
Picking up a book, pushing a door shut, or peddling your bike
What is gravity
pulling force between two objects, such as earth and you
What is a simple machine?
a machine that is used to make work easier
What are the six simple machines?
inclined plane, a pulley, a screw, a lever, a wheel and axle, and a wedge
What is an example of a lever?
A see saw and a car jack
What are an example of a pulley?
a flag pole, stage curtains
What is an example of a wedge?
An ax and a shovel are examples of a wedge
What is an example of a screw?
A screw, the blade of a pencil sharpener, or a drill bit
What is an example of a inclined plane?
a handicap ramp, or ramps in parking garages
What is an example of a wheel and axle?
a door knob, a wheel on a bike, a pizza wheel
