Present tense conjugation for -are verbs
For Parlare (to speak)
1. Io -> Parlo
2. Tu -> Parli
3. Lui/Lei -> Parla
4. Noi -> Parliamo
5. Voi -> Parlate
6. Loro -> Parlano
Present tense conjugation for -ere verbs
For Vendere (to sell)
1. Io -> Vendo
2. Tu -> Vendi
3. Lui/Lei -> Vende
4. Noi -> Vendiamo
5. Voi -> Vendete
6. Loro -> Vendono
Present tense conjugation for -ire verbs
For Sentire (to hear)
1. Io -> Sento
2. Tu -> Senti
3. Lui/Lei -> Sente
4. Noi -> Sentiamo
5. Voi -> Sentite
6. Loro -> Sentono
Present tense conjugation for -iare verbs
For Mangiare (to eat)
“i” is dropped for tu and noi endings
1. Io -> Mangio
2. Tu -> Mangi
3. Lui/Lei -> Mangia
4. Noi -> Mangiamo
5. Voi -> Mangiate
6. Loro -> Mangiano

For Pagare (to pay)
“h” is added for tu and noi endings
1. Io -> Pago
2. Tu -> Paghi
3. Lui/Lei -> Paga
4. Noi -> Paghiamo
5. Voi -> Pagate
6. Loro -> Pagano
Gender and Number of Adjectives
Change adjective endings to match gender and number of the nouns they describe
Ex:
* Loro sono americani (they are american)
* penne gialle (yellow pens)
* tavolo alto (tall table)
* casa magra (thin house)
Asking a question (interrogative)
Place subject either at very beginning or very end of sentence
Ex:
* Giovanni, dove abiti?
* Dove abiti, Giovanni?
Making a sentence negative
- Place “non” before conjugated verb.
- When replying to a question negatively, place “No” at the beginning of the sentence
