LESSON 2 Flashcards
FITT-VP Principles
Frequency,
Intensity,
Time,
Type,
Volume, and
Progression
are the foundation for designing effective fitness programs.
FITT-VP Principles
These principles help ensure a well-rounded approach to exercise,
promoting long-term fitness and reducing the risk of injury (Thompson, 2021).
FITT-VP Principles
refers to how often you exercise.
Frequency
is how hard you work during the exercise.
Intensity
involves how long each session lasts.
Time
describes the kind of exercise, such as aerobic, resistance, or flexibility training.
Type
is the total amount of exercise over a period of time.
Volume
involves gradually increasing the intensity or duration of exercise to improve fitness levels.
Progression
Treatment for Acute Musculoskeletal Injury
R.I.C.E
used to quickly treat pain and swelling after an acute (sudden) soft tissue injury such as a sprain, strain, joint dislocation, and contusions, which are commonly known as bruises.
