Define vulnerability?
A person is vulnerable if, as a result of their situation or circumstance, they are unable to protect themes-elves from harm
There are 2 types
Inherent vulnerability
Situational vulnerability
Define adversity?
‘A difficult or unfortunate event or circumstance’

Why do we get involved?
Section 32 police and fire reform (Scotland) act 2012
Policing principles are:-
A) the main purpose of policing is to improve the safety and well being of persons, localities and communities in Scotland and
B) that the police service working in collaboration with others where appropriate should seek to achieve that main purpose by policing in a way which
I) is accessible to and engaged with local communities and
II) promotes measures to prevent crime harm and disorder

Also with Third Sector Organisation’s TSOS, usually charities
