Cutaneous: most common, cause ulceratiin of tissue
Mucocutaneous: leads to tissue destruction, nose throat mouth
Visceral: kala zar, hepatosplenomegly, anemia>95% mortality, weight loss

Parasites in tissue sample
Antibody detection in VL by immunofluoresence western blot elisa
Serology may be negavtibe if hiv positive
