Headache fever sore throat

Rash characteristics?
A
Centripetal trunk face then limbs
Spare palm and sole
Macule papule vesicles pustules
Occurs in crops after 4-5 days with fever

Complications
A
Pneumonia myocarditis in adult usually
Encephalitis
Glomerulonephritis
Virus dormant in secondary nerve ganglion

Prevention?
A
Vaccine in school going age

Treatment?
A
Mild rash: calamine lotion with anti histamine
Fever: antipyretic
Severe disease: acyclovir 800mg 5 times divided in 7-10 days
