VACATE
To set aside; to move out.
VARIANCE
A discrepancy or disagreement between two instruments or two aspects of the same case, which by law should be consistent.
VENDEE
A purchaser or buyer.
VENDOR
The person who transfers property by sale, particularly real estate; the term “seller” is used more commonly for one who sells personal property.
VENIREMEN
Person ordered to appear to serve on a jury or composing a panel of jurors.
VENUE
The place at which an action is tried, generally based on locality or judicial district in which an injury occurred or a material fact happened.
VERDICT
The formal decision or finding of a jury.
VERFIY
To confirm or substantiate by oath.
VEST
To accrue to.
VOID
Having no legal force or binding effect.
VOIR DIRE
Preliminary examination of a witness or a juror to test competence, interest, prejudice, etc.
