HIPPA
1996 was enacted to protect patients’ privacy rights. HIPAA language should be included in your Health Care Power of Attorney, Durable Power of Attorney and other documents.
Restraints
Physical restraints- restrict or control movement or behaviour. They may be attached to a person’s body or create physical barriers.
Chemical restraints- medications used to modify or restrict behaviour.
Check every 30 minutes. Reassess every 2 hours

Nursing’s Role in patient care
