Plantaris
O- Lateral femoral epicondyle
I- Calcaneus antromedial to calcaneal tendon
A- weak plantar flexion, weak flexion of knee in open chain

BS- superficial- lateral sural artery, Deep- superior lateral genicular artery
Soleus
O- Soleal line of tibia, posterior surface of upper 1/3 of tibia, proximal 1/3 of posterior fibula
I- calcaneus through calcaneal tendon
A- Plantar flexion
N- Tibial nerve
BS- popliteal artery, posterior tibial artery, peroneal artery
Popliteus
O- Lateral femoral condyle
I- proximal 1/3 posterior tibia (proximal to soleal line)
A- medial rotation of tibia on femur, lateral rotation of femur on tibia
N- Tibial nerve

Flexor digitorum longus
O- Middle 1/3 posterior surface of tibia
I- distal phalanges of lateral 4 toes (2-5)
A- Flexes distal phalanges of toes 2-5, weak plantar flexion and inversion of ankle

flexor hallucis longus
O-middle 1/3 of posterior surface of fibula
I- Distal phalanx of big toe
A- Flexes 1st distal phalanx, weak plantar flexion

I- dorsal surface of 5th metatarsal
A- Eversion of ankle, weak plantar flexion
