How are women portrayed by crime media
Cavender et al., (1999) - emphasised feminine vulnerability and masculine technical expertise as protection
Benedict (1992) - characterisation of either virgins or whores depending on stereotypes
Anastasio and Costa, 2004: - less personalised female victims = less empathy
Gekoski et al. (2012) - murdered woman more news worthy if young and white and middle class

Non - ideal victims
