Lecture Thirteen - Inorganic chemistry (periodic table and the elements) Flashcards

1
Q

How is the D-block arranged?

A

D-block is arranged into groups in the periodic table, properties also related to ground state electronic configuration.

The chemistry of the lowest oxidation states for these elements is reminiscent of releated elements in the s- and p- blocks.

However, it is the chemistry of the high oxidation states that is interesting, the coordination chemistry.
