Yasukuni Shrine
Shrine that commemorates Japan’s war dead, but also includes war criminals, which makes it controversial politically
Sanctions
Measures taken by one country or countries to try and change the behaviour of another country or countries. Often in the form of a ban on trade of certain items, like oil, scrap metal which the U.S. banned after Japan gained control of indo-china.

Signed by Japan, German, and Italy and more later. Basically, we all agree with what the other is doing

Authoritarian French Government established after the fall of France. Openly collaborated with the Nazis.

With Soviet Union. Signed in 1941, agreed to be neutral to each other. Broken by Soviet after the atomic bombings

General, Prime Minister, Class A War Criminal Hanged for war crimes.

Naval Base of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. Attacked by Japan on December 7, 1941 in a surprise attack.
General Douglas MacArthur
Commander of the US Army Forces in the Far East during the war and later the Supreme Commander of the Allied Powers during the Occupation of Japan.
Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.
The Idea put forward by Japan that Asians need to stick together against Anglo-Europeans

An army formed by Indian Nationalists in alliance with Imperial Japan to throw off the British

An adjective that mean very severe. Named after the perhaps legendary Ancient Greek Lawmaker Draco
