Lecture 6 Anatomy Flashcards
Which nerve only provides sensory innervation in the hand?
Radial Nerve
What innervation gives both Motor and Sensory to the hand?
Ulnar and Median Nerves
Label the hand with the innervations.

Lumbricals 1 & 2
Opponens pollicis
Abductor pollicis brevis
Flexor pollicis brevis
Innervated by what nerve?

Adductor Pollicis is innervated by?
Ulnar Nerve
Thenar eminence consist of what muscles?
- Thenar
- Opponens Pollicis-Median
- Abductor Pollicis Brevis-Median
*Flexor Pollicis Brevis- Median
Hypothenar Eminence? Innervations
- Hypothenar
- Abductor Digiti Minimi-Ulnar
- Flexor Digiti Minimi Brevis-Ulnar
- Opponens Digiti-Ulnar
•Lumbricals 1&2- Innervation?
Median nerve
Lumbricals 3&4- Innervation?
Ulnar
Dorsal Interossei-Innervation?
Ulnar Nerve
Palmar Interossei? Innervations?
Palmar Interossei-Ulnar
Which of these are not innervated by the median nerve?
A. Opponens Digiti Minimi
B. Abductor Pollicis Brevis
C. Flexor Pollicis Brevis
D. 2nd Lumbrical
A. Opponens Digiti Minimi
Superficial Palmar Arch, is majority what artery?
Ulnar Artery

Deep Palmar Arch, Majority what artery?
Majority Radial Artery

Radial Artery-> what vasculature comes after to get to the fingers?
Dorsal metacarpal arch-> metacarpal arteries-> dorsal digital arteries

What can be found in the anatomical snuff box?
Radial Pulse
Median Nerve runs through the ?
Transverse carpal ligament
Ulnar Artery–> bifurcates into?
Ulnar Artery-> Common Interosseous Artery-> Anterior and Posterior Interosseous Artery.
What around the flexor tendons in the tranverse carpal ligament can impact the median nerve?
Bursa
Radius is broad at the —– and the ulna is —-
Radius is broad at the wrist. Ulna is narrow.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. What is it? And how does it happen?
median nerve compression @ the tranverse carpal ligament.
What do you have in the Metacarpophalangeal and Interphalangeal Ligaments?
Collaterals and joint capsules

Are there any musles in the posterior part of the hand?
NO muscles in the posterior part of the hand.
Thenar or Hypothenar? Innervation?

Thenar. Median Nerve.

What muscle is this? and what is its innervation? thenar or hypothenar?

Median Nerve. Thenar.

What muscle is this? Is it hypothenar/thenar? innervation?

Hpothenar. Ulnar Nerve

What muscle is this? thenar/hypothenar? Innervation?

hypothenar. ulnar nerve.

Oppones are what to the abductor and flexor muscles? Do they reach the phalnages? is this hypo/thenar?

Opponens is deep to the abductor and flexor muscles. Opponens do NOT reach the phalanges. hypothenar. ulnar nerve

How many Lumbricals? Lumbrical start from which phalanges?
4 lumbricals. They start from the 2nd to the 5th phalange. They all attach to the radial side of the fingers and the attach to the tendons of the flexor digitorum profundus

What muscles? Innervations?

Ulnar Nerve.

What muscle? hypothnar/thenar? innervation?

thenar. Median nerve.

PADS. Stands for? which digit doesnt adduct?
Palmar Interossi ADDuction. The third digit does NOT adduct.
DABS? stands for?
dorsal interossi ABduction. 3rd digit abducts in BOTH directions.

Palmar Aponeurosis?
Palmaris Longus attaches here. Some ppl dont have palmaris longus but have palmar aponeurosis.
