Lecture 3 Anatomy Flashcards
Pectoral Girdle
anything that connects the appendicular skeleton to the axial skeleton
Subclavian Artery consist of what arteries? Remember the mnemonic for this.
VIT C D
Vertebral Artery
Internal Thoracic Artery
Thyrocervical Trunk
- Suprascapular Artery
- Transverse Cervical Artery
Costocervical Trunk Artery
Dorsal Scapular Artery
The Vertebral Artery passes through the?
Transverse Foramen of Cervical Vertebrae and the suboccipital triangle
Trapezius is supplied by?
- Dorsal Scapular Artery
- Subclavian artery
- Transverse cervical Artery
- Subclavian artery
- thyrocervical trunk
- Subclavian artery
List Axillary Artery and it’s branches.. remember the mnemonic.
Screw, The Lawyer, Save A Patient
- Superior Thoracic Artery
- Thoracoacromial Artery
- Lateral Thoracic Artery
- Subscapular Artery
- Thoracodorsal artery
- Anterior Circumflex Humeral Artery
- Posterior Circumflex Humeral Artery
Latissimus Dorsi is supplied by what artery?
- Thoracodorsal artery
- off of the Br. Subscapular Artery of the Axillary Artery
Innervation to muscles of the shoulder are supplied by what nerves?
Brachial Plexus
Peripheral Nerves have what amount of spinal levels supplying them?
SEVERAL SPINAL NERVES
Dermatomes have how many spinal levels?
ONLY one!
Pectoralis Major Proximal attachments?
- Sternum
- medial third of clavicle
- costal cartilages of ribs 2-6.
Pectoralis Major Distal Attachments?
- Lateral ridge of intertubercular groove
- Lateral lip of the intertubercular groove (bicipital groove)
Pectoralis major artery supply?
- Arteries Pectoral Artery
- Br. of Thoracoacromial Artery of Axillary Artery
Pectoralis major nerve supply?
- Medial and Lateral Pectoral Nerves
- (Brs. Medial and lateral cords of BP)
Latissimus Dorsi attaches to the ?? lip of the intertubercular/bicipital groove.
MEDIAL lip
Deltoid Attachments
- Superior Attachment
- Lateral third of clavicle
- Acromion Process
- Scapular spine
- Inferior Attachment
- Deltoid Tuberosity (on the humerus)
Deltoid does how much of abduction?
90%
What arteries supplies the Deltoid?
- Deltoid Branches of Thoracoacromial Artery
- Post. Humeral Circumflex Artery
What nerve supplies the Deltoid?
- Axillary Nerve
- Br. of Posterior Cord of BP
What vein is the main venous drainages in the upper limb? Where exactly is it located? and where does it dump into?
Celphalic Vein runs through the Deltopectoral Groove and dumps into the Subclavian Vein
Where is the Subclavius located?
Subclavius runs just underneath the clavicle
- helps stabilize the joint
- If you shatter your clavicle, the bones will most likely puncture the subclavius instead of the axillary artery.
- It is more of a protective muscle!
1st part of the Axillary Artery is?
Superior Thoracic Artery
What is 2nd of the axillary artery?
- Thoracoacromial artery
- Pectoral Branch
- Clavicular Branch
- Acromial Branch
- Deltoid Branch
- Lateral Thoracic artery
What is the 3rd parth of the Axillary Artery?
- Subscapular Artery
- Thoracodorsal Artery
- Circumflex Scapular Artery
- Anterior circumflex Humeral
- Posterior Circumflex Humeral
” Save A Patient “
All of these are a part of the Axillary artery except?
A. Posterior Circumflex Humeral Artery
B. Anterior Circumflex Humeral Artery
C. Subscapular Artery
D. Lateral Thoracic Artery
E. Thoracoacromial Artery
F. Superior Thoracic Artery
G. None of the above
None of the above
Dorsal Scapular Artery supplies which muscle(s)?
A. Trapezius
B. Rhomboid Major
C. Levator Scapulae
D. Rhomboid Minor
E. B, C and D
F. All of the Above
Trapezius
Rhomboid Major
Rhomboid Minor
Levator Scapulae
are all supplied by Dorsal Scapular Artery
