about or with the place where you live

Local: Or relating to, or characteristic of a particular place: not general or widespread

-next town/province as part of an outbound trip

What is a staycation?

A

A Staycation can be defined as a vacation taken with the express intent of, as the
name suggests, staying close to home. The exact distance is not well defined
however, one common rule is anywhere one can go within a day and not have to stay the night.

A

Originated in 2008, has to do with the recession going on (term stay cation). Many different industries were impacted.

Travel started to decline, and now seeing a resurgence of staycation during covid times

A

markeeting states and sights to get people mto travel in the country and keep theem ehere, how to get them out and spend money

A

popular among adults who liive together and are not marrieed
• Married couples are more financially secure so they don’t need a staycation
• Early in relationship don’t have a lot of money
• Single or have a fam with children are also popular casue kids are expensive
• College students wonderlust you expereicnce at that time are more liekly to do a staycation

What was the average distance and duration of staycations from the study?

A

Findings: average distance of travel was 48 miles and duration was 2.6 days, short keeps cost down. Makes for a break to get out and enjoy the world a little bit
• Large number (majority) takes staycation in a year
• People chiose staycation even when economy picked up
• College student spend their oiwn money on these
• More elikely to eat in casual restaurant (fast food/casual decreases costs)
