Political rights > the right to participate in the excursive of power of association

Rule of law
… is a system of governance in which rulers are held accountable for their actions in the public realm by citizens. it acts directly trough competition and cooperation of the elected representatives.

narrow and broad
… focus on the means of democracy ; emphasises democratic institutions and procedures. it has a minimal approach
narrow definition
… focusses on the goal of the election. it implies voting but just voting by itself is not enough. it emphasise democratic ideas and values.
broad definition
broad definition involves :

- checking the government
types of democracy:
- direct
- representative > pluralist + elitist
