Lecture 6 Flashcards
Research quality
Critique that qualitative is subjective with lack of precision -> establish trustworthiness and show a warrant for inferences.
Credibility
Addressing the real thing
By using: Triangulation, lengthy and intense engagement, persistent inquiry
Transferability
Applying results to other contexts and subjects
Develop thick context description, rich data, theoretical sampling.
Dependability
Are they skewed by a method?
Overlap methods, stepwise replication, establish audit trial, dependability audit.
Confirmability
Do the results depend on the researcher?
Audit, triangulation, and practice reflexivity
