Brachial plexus
Collection of axons held together by connective tissue that starts at neck (nerve roots) and travels through and ends in lower axilla becoming terminal branches that supplies motor and sensory fibers to upper limb
How many roots make up the brachial plexus and where do they derive from
5 roots that are derived from ventral rami of C5, C6, C7, C8, T1
how many and what are the name of the trunks that make up the brachial plexus
There are 3 trunks:
1. Upper
2. Middle
3. Lower
how many divisions and what are the name of the divisions that make up the brachial plexus?
6 divisions:
-3 anterior
-3 posterior
How many cords and what are the names of the cords that make up the brachial plexus
3 chords:
1. Lateral
2. Medial
3. Posterior
How many branches and what are the names of the branches that make up the brachial plexus
5 branches:
1. Musculocutaneous
2. Median
3. Ulnar
4. Axillary
5. Radial
