describe blood travelling through the heart using anatomical terms
A
pulmonary circuit:
- deoxygenated blood is carried by the superior vena cava, inferior vena cava and coronary sinus and into the right atrium, then the right ventricle, then the pulmonary artery where it enters the lungs to be oxygenated
systemic circuit:
- the reoxygenated blood from the lungs is carried by the left and right pulmonary veins and into the left atrium, then the left ventricle, then the aorta where it is pushed out to the rest of the body
