A
  • any activity that reduces the incidence of disorder, dysfunction, or disability that would otherwise interfere with social, emotional or intellectual functioning of children
  • activity undertaken before individuals are defined as ‘cases’ or ‘clients’

A

High Risk; targets individuals or groups known to be at risk, ex. obese children
Cohort; interventions with groups at particular stages of development
Community-wide programs; addressed to entire community, ex. child abuse prevention month, awareness program
