What is a sustainability indicator?
A measurable part of a system representing environmental, economic, or social characteristics
What are the five types of indicators defined by the European Environment Agency (EEA)?
Descriptive, performance, efficiency, policy effectiveness, and total welfare indicators
What is the purpose of sustainability indicators?
To assess current conditions, measure progress, evaluate policies, and communicate findings
What does the SMART criteria stand for in developing sustainability indicators?
Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Trackable
What framework does the OECD use to classify environmental indicators?
The Pressure-State-Response (PSR) framework
