• remove queen
• emergency queen rearing will occur
• 4 days later destroy all sealed queen cells (old larvae)
• reamining unsealed queen cells had 0-1 day old larvae when queen removed therefore should result in good quality queens

artificial queen cups made. 15-18 put on bar and 2-3 bars fit in frame. young larvae gently taken from worker cells and placed into queen cups. grafting larvae

• couple days before hatching they are attached to nucleus colonies that are queen less
• queen mated and laying eggs then put into cage and sent to beekeeper
