Lecture 21: Synthesis Flashcards
decision tree
you’re in a particular state and then with every step, there are other options you can do
hierarchical structure
as you move up the hierarchy, you get more and more abstract
so you start out at an abstract level and then you get more and more specific later on
construal (low to high)
low: how are you going to do something <- concrete
high: why are you going to do something <- more abstract
model free is storage
model free is storage
just storing what’s right and what’s wrong without thinking too much about it
model based is computation
model based is computation
having a model but computing it in real time
approximate planning (in da middle)
you have a plan…. you want to go from this state to another state
but then how you’re gonna get there is gonna be habitized
model free: tells you what to do but doesn’t tell you where you’re going
different context favor storage or computation
different context favor storage or computation
representational exchange
moving from model learning to model free or model free to model based
rat in the maze (rapid retrieval)
rat is replaying the memory of the maze
reconsolidating for rapid retrieval
happens in the sleep cycle
trying to recall random vs nonrandom chess pieces
remembers the nonrandom more (the ones he’s familair with) that he’s played before
