How is the uterus imaged using ultrasound?

Over time it becomes smaller and smaller
How can the follopian tubes be imaged?
Inserting dye into the uterus and if it does not spill into the abdomen then it indicates the tube is closed. Dye will only proceed up to the blockage…
How are the testis imaged?
Ultrasound or MRI
What is acute scrotum? and what can be the cause in children?
Acute syndrome = Painful and swollen scrotum
In children:
- Epididymitis (infection)
- Appendix torsion (on the testis)
- Testiular torsion (rarely)
When it comes to acute scrotum, what is the biggest concern?
Main goal is to detect or exclude a testicular torsion as there is a 6hr time period to fix this.
What are the causes of epididymitis?
Adult: UTI or STI
Child: Strept. or E Coli
