‘Simple’ conflict, one fact is presented and then disputed by the other

Conflict over beliefs, mora positions, priorities
What is policy conflict?
Over course of action, plan, decisions or behaviour used to deal with the problem
What is ego conflict?
When the perception of winning the conflict is central to maintaining self-image

Conflict styles are?
Withdrawing - Unassertive and uncoorperative; low self, other concern
Forcing - Overwhelm others with formal authority
Accommodating - Unassertive and cooperative
Compromising - Intermediate assertive and cooperativeness
Collaborative - Assertive and cooperative
What are the conflict management styles?
Ascribing motives - making incorrect/unjust inferences
Counter blame - intention to prove that fault/blame lies with the other person
Demand withdrawal - forcing/withdrawal dynamic
Spiralling negatively - an initial mean/hostile comment is matched by the other party
Stubbornness - both parties obstinately cling to their position to save face
