- To protect participants and maintain public confidence
in research, it is important that all research is
conducted lawfully, with honesty and integrity, and in
accordance with good practice - This guidance sets out principles of good research
practice, which you must follow if you are involved in
research

- Research must be based on proper protocol
- Must make sure that safety, dignity and wellbeing of
participants take precedence over the development of
treatments - Forseeable risks to participants must be as low as
possible - Must stop research when results indicate that
participants are a risk of significant harm or no benefit
is expected - Must conduct all research honestly (no falsification,
plagiarism) - Must have consent
- Must make records of research legible
