Syndrome
A cluster of symptoms that occur together and characterize a specific disorder or condition.
Diagnosis
The identification of a disorder based on a predefined set of symptoms, which must cause significant impairment or distress.
Somatic Symptom Disorder
A mental disorder characterized by physical symptoms that cannot be explained by medical conditions or current knowledge.
Verstehen
A concept emphasizing the understanding of inter-subjective meaning and empathy in the context of clinical psychology.
Operant Conditioning
A type of learning where behaviors are shaped by their consequences, such as rewards or punishments.
Classical Conditioning
A learning process where a neutral stimulus becomes associated with a meaningful response through pairing with another stimulus.
Negative Cognitive Bias
A tendency to perceive situations and interactions negatively, often seen in depressive disorders.
