Lec 7 - Class V RBC Flashcards
loss of dental hard tissues by chemical action not involving bacteria
erosion
loss of tooth substance by tooth to tooth contact
attrition
loss of tooth substance from factors other than tooth contact
abrasion
loss of tooth substance from occlusal stresses
abfraction
non carious cervical lesion often has this playing a role
xerostomia
non carious cervical lesion from this often forms a v shape from brushing or toothpics etc
abrasion
non carious cervical lesion from teeth flexing and creates v shape notches
abfraction
we cannot differentiate blank based on lesion shape itself
etiologies
abfraction begins by loosening of the blank
cervical rods
during occlusal loading, stress concentrates at the blank point of the lesion so it will grow faster and faster
deepest point
minimal lesions with no sensitivity treatment
eliminate etiologic factors only
by placing a bonded restoration, the lesion will progress blank
slower rate
