Simplek branched acinar glands, which produces sebum

An oily white substance rich in lipids, that lubricates hair and skin to prevent drying

Two kinds of sweat glands glnds
Eccrine and Apocrine
All over the body and release sweat by merocrine secretion, open into sweat pores, found in palms, soles and forehead
Eccrine glands
Open into hair follicle, only found in armpits and genitalia, produce thick secretion rich in organic substance (odorless), become active in puberty
Apocrine glands
Thin plate, consisting layers of dead stratum corneum cells that contain a very hard type of keratin
Nail
Visible part of nail
Nail body
Part of nail covered by the skin
Nail root
Is stratum corneum that extends onto nail body
Cuticle/eponychium
Produces the nail
Nail matrix
Contributes to nail formation
Nail bed
Can be seen to nail body, Whitish, crescent shaped
Lunula
